I also do not like that you have to jack up the machine and take it apart to clean the filter. Not user friendly. The machine does not clean heavily soiled clothes very well. Will not buy this model again. I wish had know this when I was looking at reviews.

No soap enters the machine!

I have only had this washer and dryer since June 3. It is August 9. I am having a problem with the liquid detergent not going into the machine. I've tried emptying the reservoir, putting different levels of detergent, but it's clear at the end of a cycle that my clothes have only been 'rinsed' without soap. Crazy for a new machine! I have called my salesman for a service call. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Too old to appreciate modern technology!

It took awhile to figure out the controls and preset times for washing. It should not take an hour to wash a load of clothes, but we were able to figure out how to manipulate it. Our sons use the washer and dryer, so we don't know how well they wash or dry. I'm more happy with my ancient Maytag top loading machine and dryer that only takes 25 minutes to wash no matter the soil level, and uses water which is actually what cleans the clothes more than the detergent. Also prefer the energy preferred dial on my ancient dryer. Works better than setting a time.

Not as good as our old Maytag from 1987 which is still running. The soap dispenser did not work. Had to get it fixed. The settings for normal wash length are too long. The clothes will be destroyed with a wash cycle over 1 hour long. The quick wash helps but there is big gap between quick and normal wash. Starting it is difficult. Hard to reach the clothes when done. My wife hates it.

What a washer should be

This machine checks all the boxes. I was looking for a washer that would spin the clothes and not shake itself across the floor. This one has a balancing mechanism that makes the spin cycle smooth as silk. The second feature that makes life nicer is the optimum detergent dispenser. I fill the cup one time for several loads and it gives the right amount of detergent to each wash. It sure beats measuring and pouring detergent for every load. One thing that puzzles me is the lack of volume on the cycle signal. It's barely audible at the highest setting.

The machine rattles when it drains. I have a warranty but the repair people cannot fix it and say it is normal. Also the detergent dispenser drawer does not close flush to the washer and again, the repair person says he cannot fix it. I am very disappointed with a brand name that should be top-of-the line.

Soap dispenser, etc has a very rough, rigid, cheap, plastic feel. Soap dispenser door is difficult to open & hole is too small for pouring in detergent. Lid of dispenser seems unnecessary & like it could easily snap off. Concerned trim (metal look but, plastic) will not hold up over time. Washer door doesn™€™t seem like it has a tight, firm closure. Not the like Maytag washer I previously owned. Washer seems to perform fine and spins clothes out well. Space confinements narrowly limited my appliance choices.

Awful, leaking washer

DO NOT BUT THIS MACHINE. I recieved this washer June 30th 2025. It has a leaking problem periodically. It self dispenses detergent and every once in awhile it will get a suds code and dumps water out of the bottom. We have a main floor laundry room and it has ruined our hardwood floor, leaked through the ceiling of our finished basement and we have had water in our light fixtures. So not only do we have a defective washer we now have an expensive repair. I have had a service company come out. Their fix was to change the amount of detergent it self dispenses from the factory number 2 to a 4. This made it to where it was not dispensing detergent. I have been doing laundry at my parents house which should never happen with such a new expensive machine. I had service out again and they ordered new pump hoses even though the technician does not believe these are faulty. He just is taking guesses. He did change my detergent setting back. He wants me to try to record it leaking which will cause more water damage to my home so he can maybe see a problem. I also have to take more time off of work for him to come back and repair most likely undamaged parts. I wish I never would have bought this.

Bought a Maytag and hope it works out. Have experienced a few glitches in the three weeks I have owned it. The chime to tell you it is finished is basically non- existent even if you are in the same room. The LOC seems to lock the machine without provocation and takes many tries before you can unlock the machine. Waiting for the321 countdown is pointless in my option. You should just push start and it should start.Finally, if you even move to close to the spin button the spin turns off and you are left with a soggy mess. Hopefully things will get better with time and experience but not for the faint of heart.

Detergent Compartment Issues

I owned this washer for approximately 1 year before I started having issues. The detergent dispenser would continually fill with water after each load of laundry. The detergent was diluted with water and required it be thrown down the drain after each load so I could remove all water from each of the 3 dispensers. I had 7 service calls and 4 months of time before the washer was replaced. I lost lots of money and time due to this issue and once replaced I had to purchase a new extended warranty for the washer. Through all of that it was almost cheaper to dump the washer and buy new. Lots of headaches for sure. This was my 3rd Maytag Front Loader. My first washer was a Maytag Neptune purchased in 2003 and it worked wonders compared to this washer,

Terrible machine. You cannot clean the filter. When you have pets it™€™s necessary to be able to clean. Thus, I now have to go to laundromat to wash pet blankets etc. Spin cycle is horrible. Clothes still come out wetter than they should.

Holds more than my old one and is more efficient. Has way more features and does a great job cleaning. I love the power boost for removing pet fur and extra cleaning and the higher spin cycle does a great job wringing out clothes so they dry faster!

Works fabulous! Love the express wash option 15 minutes and done! The detergent load and mgo is super nice, not having to fill for each load. Only negative, I should have bought the pedestal, you have to get low and crawl inside the drum to get clothes out.

Unit came in with poor fit up on dispensing door. Maytag repairman worked in it.....and got it as close as he could. The washer and dryers replace my existing 7 year old units. The replaced dryer unit has to have drum rollers replaced twice!

Wish I had kept my old Maytag model and tried to repair it. First replacement was a faulty machine. Now have a new one but clothes feel crunchy after wash. I™€™ve tried all the suggestions to remedy but still not happy™€¦. I am not a proponent, nor have I used fabric softeners with previous Maytag that lasted almost 9 years. Not happy so any other suggestions are welcome

I have had this washer just over 2 months and have had 2 service calls on it. And I am going to have to call yet again. This time, it will not wash past the 33 minutes....just sits with a tub full of water until it times out and turns itself off. I also HATE the fact that I cannot add soap for a single load unless I open the door and put the soap in AFTER the tub has filled and that require me to clean the water off the floor!

THE DETERGENT DRAWER GETS BLACK MOLD AND IS DIFFICULT TO CLEAN. THE DETERGENT GETS WATERY AND IT DOES NOT CLEAN THE CLOTHES AS WELL. BOUGHT A MAYTAG BECAUSE MY MOTHERS MAYTAG LASTED MORE THAN 45 YEARS. MY FIRST OF THIS MODEL HAD TO BE REPLACED AFTER 7 YEARS. THE APPLIANCE DELIVERY PERSON TOLD ME THAT I WAS LUCKY. Our old front load Maytag washer serve us well, but it was time to replace it. We wanted a Maytag front load washer that had all the features that our old washer. Our new washer has all the same features but it even more. It has a larger capacity for washing more clothes. With its wifi connection, the washer can be operated remotely. It even has a sanitize and bulk items washing mode. Most all, our new Maytag washer cleans our clothes excellently.

Spent over an hour with rep on the phone to get help with how to disable the liquid detergent from dispensing do that I can use powder for my sons laundry (sensitive skin) Rep finally told me there is no way to do this unless you keep doing loads until the liquid detergent runs out. This is a major design flaw in my opinion. I™€™ve only had the washer for 2 weeks and asked if I can return it for something that I can use different types of detergents for different loads. The answer was no. I hope someone from corporate will reach out to me. Very disappointed

I have been very unhappy with this machine! Directions have been followed completely for cleaning the machine, but mold has been a never ending problem. The machine is cleaned per the recommended schedule to prevent mold, but the rubber seal is really impossible to clean. We need to buy a new seal, but these are quite expensive! I have also found that if the detergent, softener and bleach holder isn't removed to dry out daily that mold will grow very quickly and it is almost impossible to clean.

I replaced my Frigidaire washer (2012) with this Maytag. Oh how I miss the Frigidaire. It had a chime that rang when the wash load was done. And it was loud enough that I could hear it on the first floor. Imagine. This Maytag has a chime that can be heard only in the same room. Which isn't helpful. The detergent compartment is bulky and hard to rinse. Too many choices for the wash loads. And every load, no matter the size, starts at 55 minutes. (that changes when the washing starts, but it's annoying not to know right away how long the load will take.) AND NOW, only a few weeks in, the detergent compartment no longer fits cleanly in the slot. It hangs out a quarter of an inch. So I have to call in a repair person. I hate this thing.

We had the Maytag 5000 steam front loading washer and dryer for 17 years and never had an issue with them. Our washer recently stopped working and we replaced it with the Maytag 5000 steam washer. Although our 17 year old dryer is still working, we decided to replace it as well with the Maytag 5000 steam dryer which unfortunately is on back order. Very satisfied with our Maytag products.

I love my new washing machine. I had the same machine for eight years. The quality of the new one is not as good, sadly. When the load is done there is always water on the inside of the door which never happened with my old machine but I still am pleased with this new one. All appliances are made cheaply now I'm sad to say but that being said, I'm still satisfied with this product so far.
